Morocco desert tour 4 days from Marrakech. Erg Chegaga, camel trek, desert camp, Ait Ben Haddou.
In Marrakech, we will pick you up at your designated meeting point (airport, riad, hotel, etc.) to start an unforgettable tour into the Moroccan desert by 4x4. We take the Tizi-n’Tichka route. In Ouarzazate, we will stop for lunch. Then, we head towards the Moroccan desert via the Draa Valley with its kasbahs. On the way, you will have the opportunity to visit the pottery kilns and the ancient Islamic library in Tamgroute. Arriving in M’hamid at the end of the day, the gateway to the Moroccan desert, we will enjoy an evening around the campfire and spend the night in a Berber tent bivouac.
After breakfast, we head towards the vast dunes of Morocco’s desert, Erg Chegaga, passing through the M’hamid Natural Reserve to observe the antelopes and oryx. We will take a lunch break at the Sacred Oasis in the middle of the desert before arriving at the sea of sand. At Erg Chegaga, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a camel ride and watch a sunset over the dunes. The evening will be lively around the campfire under the stars, followed by a night in a comfortable bivouac.
Our adventure in the Moroccan desert continues along the track through the desert, passing by the dried lake of Iriqi and Taznakht for lunch. In Taznakht, you will have the opportunity to visit a cooperative specializing in the making of Moroccan rugs. The night will be spent at the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The desert tour comes to an end. In the morning, we will take the road back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas mountain range at an altitude of 2,260 meters. We will return to Marrakech in the early afternoon after crossing the Atlas Mountains.
