A pleasant climate throughout the year

In general, rainfall is low, which makes Morocco ideal to visit even outside the “high seasons.”

The Moroccan desert offers unique experiences depending on the season. From October to May, it is the perfect time to explore the Moroccan Sahara on foot, especially by camel trekking. During winter, from December to February, the climate is fairly mild in the south and the Moroccan Sahara, although it is cold in the mountains. The Moroccan desert itself offers stunning light and magical starry nights — perfect for bivouacs and nights under the stars.

In spring, from March to May, the country blooms, Argan trees flourish, and even the Moroccan desert takes on unexpected hues. It is one of the most beautiful seasons to enjoy a Saharan adventure, with camel rides and sunsets over the dunes of the Moroccan desert.

Autumn, from September to November, is also an excellent season: less hot than summer, still dry and bright, the Sahara becomes accessible again with more bearable temperatures. It is the perfect time for 4x4 tours, hiking, and trekking in the Moroccan desert.

On the other hand, July and August are the hottest months, especially in Saharan desert regions like Merzouga or Zagora, where temperatures can exceed 45°C (113°F). This is not the best time to explore the desert on foot, but some activities remain possible early in the morning or at sunset.
