
Departure from Ouarzazate to explore the Moroccan desert via a scenic route, passing through the Tizi-N-Tinifift pass at 1,710 meters, the starting point of the Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest river at 1,220 km. We stop in Tamegroute to discover the green pottery kilns and the ancient Islamic library. After approximately 4 hours on a stunning road, we arrive in M’hamid, the gateway to the Moroccan desert. Enjoy lunch with local inhabitants in M’hamid. In the afternoon, visit the old village of M’hamid (Ksar M’hamid) on foot with a short hike of about 1.5 hours. The night is spent in a comfortable bivouac, with a starry evening around a campfire.
